Retro Bowl is mostly concerned on offense. Being able to mimic defense instead of actually managing it keeps matches fast-paced without overwhelming the player with too many obligations. Although it may seem limiting to some players at first, this actually improves the game’s speed and strategic depth. Defensive plays can go either way depending on factors including roster depth, team spirit, coaching decisions, and player attributes. Because of this design decision, players don’t have to worry about trying to control every aspect of the match; instead, they can concentrate on calling plays, executing them, and building teams.
