Cricketers with the most double centuries in ODIs

Since then, more players have joined the list. Rohit Sharma has scored three double centuries in ODIs, including a record 264 runs against Sri Lanka in 2014, the highest score in ODI history.

Sachin Tendulkar
When you think of cricket records, the first name that comes to mind is Sachin Tendulkar. He has been a part of every major milestone in the game!
The Master Blaster became the first player to hit this particular double in international cricket. He had scored four double centuries in Tests, and in 2010, he became the first male batsman to cross 200 runs in ODIs.
That year worked like magic for him. He added two more double centuries in Tests. In total, Tendulkar scored six double centuries in red-ball cricket.

Virender Sehwag
Virender Sehwag joined this list in 2011. This aggressive opener always likes to score big. And by big, we mean very big.
He has two triple centuries in Tests, which speaks for itself. Sehwag also holds India’s highest Test score – 319 against South Africa.
In addition, he has scored more than 200 runs in Tests. This gave him a total of six double centuries. Then, in 2011, he scored a double century in ODIs.

Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle showed just as much hunger for big scores as Sehwag, maybe even more. Once he hit the ball cleanly, the bowlers had no chance.
People remember him mainly for T20 cricket, but Gayle dominated in Tests and ODIs as well.
He scored two triple centuries in Tests. Before that innings, he scored his first double century in 2002. Later, in 2015, he scored 200 runs in an ODI World Cup match, becoming the first player to do so in the tournament.

If other players have mainly scored doubles in Tests, Rohit Sharma has done it in ODIs. He has scored 200 runs three times in this format – more than anyone else.
He is still the only player to have scored three double centuries in ODIs. His 264 against Sri Lanka is also the highest individual score in this format.
Rohit’s only Test double century came in 2019, when he scored 212 against South Africa in Ranchi.

Two and a half years later, he also scored a double century in Tests. He scored 269 runs as captain, this time against England in Birmingham.
