Yes. According to Section 31 of the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006, any Food Business Operator (FBO) engaged in selling food items, including online sellers, must register or obtain a license from FSSAI.
If your annual turnover is up to ₹12 lakh, you’re eligible for Basic FSSAI Registration (Form A).
Turnover between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 crore requires a State FSSAI License (Form B).
Businesses with over ₹20 crore turnover, or those operating across states (e‑commerce chains), must obtain a Central FSSAI License.
